Bee Feeding Sugar Syrup Recipe

Spring Feeding (or for brood buildup)

1:1 Mixture (sugar:water)

Mix one part sugar to one part water by weight OR volume:

This equals:

One 4 pound bag of sugar mixed with two quarts of water

Mix until fully dissolved (nice golden color)

Fall Feeding (or for winter storage)

2:1 Mixture (sugar:water)

Mix two parts of sugar to one part water by weight OR volume:

This equals:

One 4 pound bag of sugar mixed with one quart of water (warm water helps)

Mix until fully dissolved (nice golden color)

Sugar Candy Recipe

10 pounds of white granulated sugar

8 ounces ( one cup ) of water

Mix well- you now have "wet sugar". Make slabs on wax paper to fit under the inner cover. Let them sit at room temperature overnight. Next day they will be as hard as a brick.
